Components Engineer - Electrical

Decatur, Georgia – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client with headquarters in Atlanta. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Components Engineer.

What you will do: TThe role provides direction for fixture level controls integration to mechanical engineering team, optimizes the RF or other elements of the lighting controls system for best performance, and tests compatibility at various levels such as fixture level, sub-system level and system level. The position creates, executes and summarizes test and evaluation plans for assigned projects, writes test plan for wired and wirelessly controlled luminaires, and designs custom test fixtures, while also working with in-house or external app development team for lighting controls app. Additionally, the Components Engineer  prepares and releases proper documentation for assigned projects, provides multi-discipline support for resolving technical issues associated with control components, products or systems, and provides recommendations for cost reduction efforts.

What you will need: BS in Electrical Engineering. Hands-on on work experience with different wired and wireless control systems in lighting space.. Good understanding of local/ 4wall and IOT based controls architectures. Familiar with controls based GUI and App development process. Hands on embedded system development experience. Understanding of different dimmer topologies and architectures such as: forward phase, reverse phase, fluorescent 3wire, Dali, DMX, 0-10V, PWM, ZigBee and BLE Mesh. Familiarity with RF design principals and testing such as line of sight testing, antenna optimization etc. Familiarity with other disciplines and devices associated with solid-state lighting technology. Mix signal circuit simulation and design understanding. Schematics capture and PCB layout experience (Altium would be a plus). Understanding of indoor (residential and commercial) lighting.
