Decatur, Georgia – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Component Engineer.
What you will do: The Component Engineer is responsible for the specification, design, development and testing of electronic products. The role is responsible for the development and integration of new electronic technologies for lighting applications, including LED light engines, LED drivers/power supplies, surge suppression devices, and electronic controls for lighting systems. The role develops, tests and integrates LED light engines and LED drivers for new products, currents with new LED technologies including LEDs, drivers, and thermal management materials, and supports the product development group with the integration of electronic HID ballasts and controls for luminaires. The position supports the development of transient suppression devices for use in outdoor electronic luminaires and develops testing procedures and guidelines for the testing and/or troubleshooting of electronic luminaires, qualification documentation for new products, and general laboratory testing procedures. Additionally, the Component Engineer evaluates/tests various electronic products for lighting applications, including LEDs, LED drivers, and electronic controls.
What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in component engineering. Magnetic and electronic ballast design experience. Experience in lighting.
