CAM Programmer

Allen Park, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an automotive supplier focused on the manufacturing of engines. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a CAM Programmer.

What you will do: The CAM Programmer creates CNC programs with CAM software for manufactured parts. The role analyzes work-holding requirements, develops component process plans with a minimum number of setups, and develops the method, operational sequence, equipment, layout and tooling for the machining of precision tightly toleranced components. The position designs/programs fixtures as required for work holding, including creating or following creation of proper math data and prints, assures clearances between machine spindles, tool holders, parts and fixtures, and develops CNC methods, process prints and writes operator plans, describing in detail the methods established. Additionally, the CAM Programmer evaluates/improves manufacturing and work-holding methods for CNC operations, assists in creating cost savings, participates in continuous improvement activities, and assists with both short and long term planning activities.

What you will need: Proficiency in MasterCam to include 3 axis, 2D and 3D programming; 4 and 5 axis experience is a strong plus. Working knowledge of SolidWorks and NX9 preferred. Diverse material experience to include steel, stainless steel, aluminum, mild alloys, and hardened alloys. Extensive machine shop knowledge.
