Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a leading supplier of electronic components to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created CAE Engineer.
What you will do: The CAE Engineer works with and provides leadership to a team of mold CAE engineers to effectively use plastic flow analysis software, Moldflow/Moldex3D or the like, to identify and resolve molding problems associated with connector products. The position provides technical guidance to team members to solve challenge molding and mold simulation problems, provides molding expertise to improve product manufacturability, builds high performing molds and improves molding production output, while also being responsible for building flow simulation models of connector products using solid molding software (CAD), HyperMesh and/or other FEA pre-processors. The role performs flow, pack, cool and warp analyses using Moldex3D and Moldflow software, writes project reports, presents the results to both internal and external customers, and utilizes plastics and mold design experiences to evaluate Moldflow and/or Moldex3D simulation results to propose product design and/or manufacturing alternatives. Additionally, the CAE Engineer interfaces with product and tooling engineers on a day to day basis and documents/manages material and correlational study databases.
What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Polymer Engineering. Mid-range experience in mold simulation software such as Moldflow, or Moldex3D. Experience in Finite Element Analysis and/or building mesh models using Pre-processors such as Hypermesh. Experience with Honda. Autodesk Moldflow professional or expert certification. Strong understanding of plastics material behaviors and its properties. Hands on experience and sound knowledge of injection molding process and machine controls. Experiences with Abaqus. Ansys and etc. are highly desired.
