CAE Engineer

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with an international supplier of raw materials and electronics to the manufacturing industry. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a CAE Engineer.

What you will do: The CAE Engineer ensures that ongoing FEA structural analyses are completed on time and to the satisfaction of both the team and the customer. The role provides modal, fatigue, and impact analysis and generates the FEA model from CAD, including de-featuring, format conversion, volume meshing, boundary conditions setup and performing analysis. The position supports technical Design Reviews with affiliated companies and customers, supports Root Cause analysis of issues utilizing FEA analysis when necessary, and supports quality and reliability efforts (e.g., DFMEA, Robustness Assessments, Key-Life Testing) relative to mechanical design and manufacturing. Additionally, the CAE Engineer manages analysis request work flow, converts CAD data to the required format, simplifies CAD models to specific needs for each analysis, and assigns, tracks, follows-up, and reports status of analysis requests (work flow management on multiple programs).

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in product development within the tier-one automotive manufacturing industry. Experience in structural FEA analysis using Abaqus software. Experience with Thermal analysis software a plus. AD knowledge of CATIA, NX, and Solidworks.
