Winona, Minnesota – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client with headquarters in Atlanta. Due to their growth, our client has a newly created position for a Buyer Planner.  This role will purchase material to keep the cells running and plan for the materials use in the manufacturing process.

What you will do: The Buyer will negotiate agreements and manage with current supply base as well as new/potential suppliers with the goal of continuous improvement in the areas of quality, delivery, service and cost within a regional sales area. This role will utilize lean principles to manage spend reduction projects including identifying proper suppliers, processing and analyzing RFP’s and negotiation pricing. The position will resolve issues with suppliers as they arise as well as address concerns/changes to the outsourced product. The role will work closely with design and engineering to effectively select sources and pricing and commercial agreements for new product design and sustaining engineering projects, while managing effective material strategies within a manufacturing environment thru effective strategies, working closely with buyer/planners to improve performance metrics associated with materials.

What you will need: Current experience in a Buyer/Planner role within a high volume manufacturing environment.  Knowledge of Lean and KanBan principles, product component knowledge and assembly processes.
