Ann Arbor, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a 100 year old company with a large footprint in automotive tier-one. Due to their growth, they have several newly created positions for a Buyer.
What you will do: The Buyer is responsible for executing commodity strategy and developing and executing localization and VA/VE strategy. The role manages the supply base, leads multi-discipline projects or teams, supports APQP teams, and interfaces with change project teams. The position requests quotes, evaluates/selects suppliers, negotiates contracts, issues purchase orders, coordinates the purchase of component parts, drives domestic and global sourcing, and audits supplier performance. Additionally, the Buyer achieves cost reduction goals, supports supplier manufacturing feasibility reviews and supplier kickoff meetings, and keeps updates on market conditions, prices and supply trends, purchasing techniques and new products.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Current experience in an automotive buyer role. Bilingual in Japanese, Chinese, or Thai preferred.
