Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with an automotive supply to a major manufacturing company. Due to recent growth within the company, they have recently opened a position for a Senior Buyer.

What you will do: The Senior Buyer leads supplier benchmarking activity, works closely with suppliers to develop a mutually beneficial, long term relationship, and develops, implements and manages commodity strategy. The role develops supplier base not only U.S. but North, Central and South America for localization parts, generates commodity cost estimates to build sourcing, negotiation, and supplier development strategies, and analyzes costs to understand and evaluate supplier competitiveness. The position drives continuous improvement in the supply base in support of business goals, facilitates annual supplier cost improvements/manufacturing improvements activities, and provides support to manufacturing plants for both strategic issues and supplier performance issues. Additionally, the Senior Buyer develops plans and support of new program launches and projects, issues purchase orders for production components and tooling, and develops cost estimation skills by commodity.

What you will need: Associates’s degree with 5 years of experience or no degree with 10 years of experience. Automotive purchasing experience. Understanding of automotive manufacturing. Experience working with international customers.
