Danville, Illinois – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com    is working with a growing, diversified, publicly traded 40-year-old company that is a leading supplier to the commercial automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Buyer.

What you will do: The Buyer manages the serial procurement for production material after hand off from project team/buyer, is responsible for the support of all components from the beginning of the series via the serial production and the spare part stage until the product end of life, and tracks/monitors product life cycle, ensuring successful cost and timing targets. The role manages multiple projects simultaneously, evaluates competitive offerings to determine the overall best offer for a product or best service, and develops/implements direct material scheduling agreements with suppliers. The position creates/maintains SAP master data for direct materials suppliers, assists corporate commodity buyers in Europe with direct material suppliers, supports negotiations with direct material suppliers together with corporate commodity buyers for the NAFTA region, and assists production planning/Logistics on commercial and delivery related issues. Additionally, the Buyer tracks direct material cost reduction savings as defined, supports/provides data to assist the Project Buyer as required, and works with accounting on all direct material supplier payment discrepancies/terms of payment.

What you will need: Bachelor Degree. Experience as a purchasing professional in the manufacturing industry. Experience in a sourcing role, including negotiations and managing supplier relationships. Previous experience in a high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment.
