Body Engineer I


Northville, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   is working with a growing automotive Tier-1.  Due to their recent growth, they have a newly created position for a Body Evaluation Engineer.

What you will do: The Body Evaluation Engineer leads and manages body evaluation projects for assigned product classes, focusing on evaluations of electronics products, such as ECUs (for sunroof, power back door, ATM etc.), rotational sensors, occupant classification sensors, proximity sensors, motors, etc., per OEM specifications. The position approves, negotiates and manages customer DVP&Rs and internal test plans, updates monthly reports and Project Progress Boards, and leads weekly team meetings when needed, while also supporting internal design review meetings. The role manages problem follow-up sheets and problem lists, writes/approves test procedures and standardized test methods, and leads fixture design and testing methodology, while also creating technical documentation. Additionally, the Body Evaluation Engineer supports equipment and instrumentation purchase and installation, manages outsource testing as applicable, and supports product class scope management.

What you will need: Bachelor’s in Engineering. Electronics experience. Current experience in evaluation engineering. Knowledge of basic equipment used in electronics testing, such as oscilloscopes, sequencers, data loggers, multimeters, programmable power supplies, etc. PLC programming skill. LabView programming skill. Experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation in general testing, such as accelerometers, strain gauges, load cells, LVDTs, speed gauges, pressure gauges, thermal couples, etc.  Experience in vibration testing.
