Battery Systems Manager

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with an international supplier of raw materials and electronics to the manufacturing industry. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Systems Manager.

What you will do: The Systems Manager develops/executes cell Module design/development for lithium-ion battery systems, manages the execution of cell modules and module development programs for battery system and associated components, and develops/maintains project-level development timing. The role ensures development schedules, provides weekly reports as to development status to management, and manages engineers of development, testing and technician to ensure proper level of design verification testing and work allocation. The position executes development of battery cell modules, leads the execution of cell module development project-level sequence and timing plans, and assists in quality, reliability and failure reporting. Additionally, the Systems Manager leads technical design reviews, develops detailed effort estimates (time and resources), material cost estimates and project proposals, and trains engineers through working experience of development.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Experience with automotive products, including development and execution of detailed development plans including design and engineering. Working experience with automotive OEM environmental performance specifications (Shock, Vibration, Temperature, Dust, etc). Experience with development procedures and project executions. Knowledge of injection molding, stamping, extrusions, and assembly. Working experience with quality and reliability disciplines (FMEA, 8D, APQP) and development processes (PLM or PDM). Experience with battery systems, structure of mechanical strength, high-voltage (DC) systems, high-current systems is desirable. Experienced in 8D, AIMS, or other Team-Oriented Problem Solving. Proper handling knowledge of 2D/3D drawings using Solidworks or CATIA.
