Automotive Quality Engineer - Plastics

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a global tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for a Quality Engineer.

What you will do: The Quality Engineer monitors customer and internal quality performance, administers compliance to ISO/ TS 16949 requirements, and reviews quality systems and documents. The role works with the manufacturing facilities to create communized processes and improve systems, conducts TS audits of the quality system at the corporate offices and manufacturing facilities, and represents the company with customer and industry personnel by visiting customers and attending industry conferences. The position reviews/administers adherence to advanced quality planning activities, elements, and schedules via internal audits and Product Realization gate reviews, assists/leads the manufacturing facilities and suppliers with problem solving, and trains in problem solving and continuous improvement techniques. Additionally, the Quality Engineer works with suppliers on supplier development and conduct supplier audits and surveys, reviews quality action plans internally and with suppliers, and evaluates software for process improvements.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Current automotive quality management experience. Working knowledge of the automotive industry, customer specifications, customer web sites and requirements and training or knowledge of ISO/ TS 16949 requirements. Experience with OEM quality processes. Certified TS 16949 lead auditor. Ability to travel up to 80% including international.
