Automotive Production Manager

Phoenix, Arizona – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a large supplier in the automotive tier-one space. Due to their growth, they have several newly created positions for a Production Manager.

What you will do: The Production Manager is responsible for managing the production operations within the assigned area of manufacturing (e.g. assembly, rework, test, machining, etc.), through high-level process improvements and strategic planning methods surrounding the operational output and processes in order to support and fulfill the objectives of the plant. The role manages/oversees all production personnel and related activities, monitors/evaluates department operating results in comparison to business plan, and plans, selects, designs and implements manufacturing methods and processes through continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques. The position identifies tools/equipment needs and organizational skill requirements, coordinates preventative maintenance schedules with maintenance department, and confers with senior management in addition to engineering and quality leadership personnel to lead the resolution of manufacturing problems. Additionally, the Production Manager maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Current experience in production management within a tier-one automotive manufacturing environment. Progressive experience in operations management within the durable manufacturing industry. Deep knowledge in plant operations, including machining, assembly and heat treatment. Knowledge in manufacturing planning and/or industrial/process engineering. Knowledge of 5S and Six Sigma problem-solving methodology. Familiarity with financial reporting statements and business planning processes. Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred. TS16949 awareness training. Spanish and/or German language skills.
