Automotive Materials Supervisor

Highland Park, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com  is working with a world leading supplier of innovative parts and systems to the global automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Materials Supervisor.

What you will do: The Materials Supervisor supervises daily activities of the Materials department’s Team Leaders, Sequencer/Tuggers and Forklift Truck Drivers, plans, directs and coordinates all inbound, outbound movement of material within the manufacturing facility, and assists the Materials Superintendent in determining and managing appropriate manpower requirements. The role assists in managing material cycle counts and annual physical inventory reconciliation, participates and leads process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc, and trains new/transferred employees on their job duties and responsibilities. The position ensures employees are consistently adhering to standardized work processes and rotation schedules, monitors, maintains and records employees’ time related to the Attendance and Time-Off Policies, and provides timely feedback on work performance. Additionally, the Materials Supervisor supports and enforces the principles of the Employee Charter, Company goals and objectives, and decisions and policies by taking ownership and communicating these in a positive and supportive manner.

What you will need: High school diploma. Materials team leadership experience in a tier-one automotive manufacturing facility. Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines. Experience working with an MRP system.
