Automotive Engineering Manager-Japanese

Houston, Texas – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a 100 year old world leader with a growing automotive division.  Due to their continued growth and increase in market share, they have a newly created position for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

What you will do: The Manufacturing Engineering Manager identifies, plans, implements, and controls activities related to equipment and process in order to improve or correct operational performance. The role plans staffing and evaluates performance of direct reports, manages/implements projects assuring delivery of tangible improvements and savings through, and decreases process variability through either process or equipment changes or adjustments. The position schedules shutdown activities and projects, provides overall direction for execution of projects, and coaches, counsels and mentors team members to facilitate their growth and career development. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager supports all departments on certification efforts for different standards, assists all departments in the implementation and continuous improvement of 5S and other lean manufacturing principles, and assists the maintenance department in the day to day equipment troubleshooting and issues.

What you need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Manufacturing engineering experience including project management, cost control, safety, quality systems and direct supervision. Japanese speaking and reading ability. Proficient in Auto-CAD or 3D-CAD. Experienced in implementation and use of lean manufacturing principles. Automotive industry experience (ISO TS 16949, Core tools, ISO 14001, OSHAs 18001, etc.).
