Automotive Engineering Manager

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an Engineering Manager.

What you will do: The Engineering Manager is responsible for the establishment and administration of engineering policies to assure that product engineering designs meet customer’s requirements. The position participates with sales department on new product launch or engineering changes, assists in cost estimation as needed, and develops/implements aids to assist the quality department in creating an “Error Free” production environment. The role provides control and timely implementation of Control Plans and FMEA’s, develops a communication network with staff functions and the Plant Managers to produce parts of optimum reliability and quality, and trains, directs, develops, supervises and evaluates engineering staff. Additionally, the Engineering Manager develops cost control methods, prepares/presents departmental budgets, and provides strategic planning, submitting timely engineering plans.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience as an Engineering Manager within automotive manufacturing. Knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes and in-depth knowledge of best engineering practices in the automotive production facility.
