Novi, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a world leading supplier of innovative parts and systems to the global automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Cost Estimator.
What you will do: The Cost Estimator is responsible for the development of all cost issues related to programs and interacts with manufacturing facilities, engineering, program management and account managers to establish estimates of costs on standard and special parts or products. The role analyzes all quote packages and develops costing on all components contained within the package, while also developing/maintaining cost reduction programs and establishing reporting formats based on customer requirements. The position participates in setting targets and pricing to improve margins, contributes to VA/VE initiatives, and tracks, audits and compares actual tooling expenditures to the pre-established budget and reports the status on a regular basis. Additionally, the Cost Estimator provides cost impacts for engineering changes, justifies cost/pricing structure to the customer as required, and provides purchasing with target cost goals, drawings, and material specifications.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience in an automotive manufacturing/engineering environment. Practical experience in product costing environment with an emphasis in metal and assembly processes. Extensive knowledge of product, design, manufacturing processes and procedures. CAD, tooling, blank layout experience and low cost country experience preferred.
