Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Prototype Coordinator.
What you will do: The Prototype Coordinator assembles and finishes modified production, experimental, prototype and/or development models from plastic and a variety of other materials. The position uses standard prototype assembly equipment, i.e. power hand tools, drill press, rivet press, hand tools, spray paint equipment, power saw, measuring equipment, checks components and completed assemblies for adherence to required specifications (blueprint or otherwise), and prepares samples for delivery by labeling, packaging and arranging shipping of product. The role disposes of old stock and scrap parts, works from requests, verbal or written instructions, prints, standards or special instructions, and assists leader in scheduling work and estimating sample costs, while also maintaining inventory system per specific requirements i.e. Access database. Additionally, the Prototype Coordinator coordinates receipt of samples for testing and evaluation from Engineering, Suppliers, Manufacturing, Model Shop, Customer, etc, assembles various products for testing at outside test facilities and customer locations, and orders/stocks inventory items, while also supporting engineering services clerk with basic customs paper work.
What you will need: Associates degree or Technical certificate. Current experience in manufacturing. Working knowledge of prototype assembly including machining and fabricating as well as an understanding of QS9000, ISO14001 and TS16949 standards.
