Automation Engineer – Mechanical

Strongsville, Ohio  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a global Tier One supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for an Automation Engineer.

What you will do: The Automation Engineer assists the production team by optimizing and maintaining the robotic and controls automations needed to effectively run product. The role troubleshoots and repairs equipment consisting of weld controllers, robotic components, and programmable logic controllers, provides technical support in developing and improving welding processes, and assists in the integration, start-up and debugging of plant floor material handling, automation, and welding equipment, including weld controls, spot/laser welding robots, material handling robots and pick. The position provides support in the analysis and resolution of automation, and weld equipment failures, designs methods for maintaining or increasing production levels while improving safety, production costs, yields, and quality, and programs/adjusts equipment to achieve required results. Additionally, the Automation Engineer monitors process equipment to identify potential errors and develops solutions to eliminate the reoccurrence of those errors, while also determining test methods, procedures, parts, and equipment needed to implement engineering changes.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in automation engineering. Knowledge of blanking and laser welding systems. ABB experience (S4 and IRC5 Controllers). Motoman and/or Nachi robotics experience. Proficiency in programming Allen-Bradley PLC’s. Proficiency in programming Siemens PLC is a plus. Experience programming servo controllers and VFD is a plus. Competency with AutoCAD software.
