Assistant Plant Manager

Lansing, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an interior supplier to the automotive industry. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for an Assistant Plant Manager.

What you will do: The Assistant Plant Manager establishes goals, objectives and guidelines covering all phases of plant operations and staff activities to maintain an efficient, functional, operational and profitable plant. The role directs, guides and motivates immediate subordinates in attainment of projected goals and objectives to increase operational efficiency, establishes and enforces procedures and controls within the plant to attain projected goals and objectives, and participates in making decisions and approvals to exercise control over vital elements of the plant organization and formulates such decisions based upon Company policy and other pertinent data. The position assists with plans and forecasts plant requirements, initiates/implements new methods and procedures in areas such as scrap control, manufacturing techniques and work force utilization, and participates heavily in customer relations by both receiving and calling on customer representatives. Additionally, the Assistant Plant Manager recommends acquisition of capital equipment to update present equipment, maintains contact with civic and business leaders in the community relations, and assists with recommending changes in organization classifications, compensations and/or fringe benefits.

What you will need: College degree in industrial management, engineering or business administration or equivalent. Experience in supervisory positions at progressively higher levels. Current experience in manufacturing.
