Cincinnati, Ohio – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with a prominent machine tool and gear company and due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for an Applications Engineer.

What you will do:  The Applications Engineer provides related technical assistance to customer regarding previous or future purchases, trouble shoots existing problems with machines and processes, and makes suitable recommendations for improvement or correction. The position analyzes, defines, documents, and reports customer runoff expectations, using Statistical Process Control as required, in a runoff synopsis to verify that machines purchased by customers meet their quality and production requirements, while also determining production analyses for potential machine sales by predicting cycle times/duty cycles based on customer’s production needs and prepares proposal. The role defines tool configuration for the required process, verifies new machine capabilities and processes by testing or analyzing, while also serving as a consultant and liaison between the sales organization and the customer. Additionally, the Applications Engineer performs promotional work by presenting new developments, machines, and processes, and develops and conducts presentations and training courses covering gear processes, machines, tools, and sales.

What you will need:  Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical discipline required with knowledge of gear theory and manufacturing. Current experience in engineering. Knowledge of power distribution. Knowledge/experience with Gear Process Technology is a plus. 50-70% travel. Knowledge of cylindrical gears.
