Applications Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a tier-one supplier for the automotive manufacturing industry. Due to this recent growth, they have opened a position for an Applications Engineer.

What you will do: The Applications Engineer provides technical support for engineering and sales, develops/maintains product charts for current and future programs, and monitors/aids in the resolution of commercial, timing, and technical issues. The role facilitates meetings between clients and company, tracks design release and prototype material requirement dates, and develops system and product concepts with customer engineers utilizing generic specifications as guidelines. The position supports responses to, and tracking of, customer change notices, works with sales team to maximize commercial recovery on customer product changes, and ensures CAD data is transmitted and banked into the customer system. Additionally, the Applications Engineer supports launch issues, attends customer change management meetings for review and approval of product design changes, and attends warranty reviews, while also obtaining necessary customer PPAP approvals (Appearance, Dimensional, Material, etc).

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in applications engineering within manufacturing. Knowledge of 5 Phase, 6S, etc. Experience with APQP documents.
