Aluminium Casting Engineer

Buffalo, New York – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an Aluminium Casting Engineer northeast of Buffalo.

What you will do: The Aluminium Casting Engineer defines and develops an aluminum bill of process for A/C compressor castings, provides expertise on design for manufacturing of A/C compressor aluminum housings to product engineers, and drives internal and external use of casting simulation software to improve quality and cost. The role oversees tool design of casting suppliers, supports suppliers with regular reviews of designs, processes, and progress, and helps drive issue resolution. The position diagnoses/implements corrective actions for casting defects, participates in product cost and quality improvement efforts, and travels to foundries for workshops, new supplier development, etc.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in the automotive, tier-one supplier industry. Experience with Aluminum High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) preferably within the automotive field. Strong understanding of Aluminum HPDC Process Design. Knowledge of production tool design, aluminum material grades and properties.
