Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com   is working with a growing manufacturing company with several facilities throughout the United States. Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for an Advanced Quality Engineer.

What you will do: The Advanced Quality Engineer is responsible for providing leadership in quality support on new program launch teams to ensure that the team is meeting customer expectations through flawless launch practices. The position supports the quality of new program launches through collaboration of the program management and manufacturing facilities across North America, involves oneself in problem solving, root cause analysis, developing corrective actions, inspections, SPC, and working with internal/external customers as needed, and develops/tracks product gauges from quote phase to delivery. The position conducts quality audits, reviews quality trends, tracks root cause of problems and coordinates correction actions with both internal and external customers, while also providing input and recommendations to management on quality process and procedural improvements. Additionally, the Advanced Quality Engineer builds trust, rapport at all levels from floor associates, management, and customers, facilitates the internal quality improvement process and team interaction, and tracks/communicates QA (quality assurance) improvements made.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with current experience as a Quality Engineer. Experience in automotive manufacturing. Strong experience with quality systems, root cause analysis, vendor related quality, and in-process and final inspection. Solid understanding of variation and core quality tools – SPC, MSA, Process Capability. Ability to travel 20-30% domestic and internationally. Dimensional Control and GD&T experience. 8D or TOPS Training experience and Six Sigma (Green/Blackbelt) is preferred. A background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs is helpful. Gauge development and buy-off experience preferred.
