Troy, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com    is working with a world leading supplier of innovative parts and systems to the global automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer.

What you will do: The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer takes ownership of Design-to-Cost process for powertrain products with a strong focus on predetermined cost targets. The role provides consideration of new innovative manufacturing technologies, leads new quotation activities by providing detailed cost estimates, and works with the manufacturing sites to establish, select, procure and install equipment to support the launch of new programs. The position provides process engineering leadership, expertise and support for all powertrain processes: components and assemblies and leads manufacturing processes in all manufacturing locations, including plant layout concepts, supply base, logistics, process flows, and workforce utilization to attain maximum efficiency of installed capacity. Additionally, the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer develops master timing charts for manufacturing milestones, improves manufacturing methods for maximum efficiency, and develops standard procedures to improve manufacture processes and to reduce overall cost.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering. Mid-range experience in processing automotive powertrain components and assemblies. Computer skills to include Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Ability to travel up to 30% or more. Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies for powertrain products. Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques. Strong costing and machining experience.
