Detroit, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a world leading supplier of innovative parts and systems to the global automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Shift Superintendent.
What you will do: The Shift Superintendent supervises production supervisors assigned to the shift, determines/manages appropriate manpower requirements in conjunction with the production supervisors, and ensures that shift employees (new and transferred) have received all required training in a timely manner. The position ensures production supervisors are adhering to standardized work instructions, rotation schedules, and cross training is done as necessary, tracks/reports daily production and drives improvements, and administers/ensures compliance with the Quality and Material Management System requirements. The role performs minor maintenance functions, participates/leads process improvement projects, and collaborates with the Department Manager and Human Resources Manager in the administration of disciplinary action. Additionally, the Shift Superintendent ensures the thoroughness and timely completion of scheduled performance reviews for shift employees, establishes open and honest dialogue with the union in administering the contract, and takes an active part in the division’s safety program by performing regular workplace inspections.
What you will need: Production supervisory experience in an automotive manufacturing facility. Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
