Tier One Project Buyer - Stampings

Auburn Hills, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a global tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for a Buyer.

What you will do:  The Buyer is responsible for strategic sourcing of assigned commodity parts, managing supply base to include renewal of agreements and assisting suppliers in problem-solving and tracking corrective actions, and conducting supplier assessments for potential new suppliers. The role gathers and analyzes supplier data to prepare analysis and recommendation for supplier selection, with focus on sourcing in low-cost countries, while also working with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance. The position develops and executes sourcing strategies and prepares monthly reports to track and show sourcing strategy and progress, including achievement of spend reduction targets, interfaces with internal customers on critical supplier issues as necessary, and interacts with other purchasing employees, departments and/or manufacturing plant personnel.

What you will need: Bachelor Degree in supply chain management or other related field relevant to purchasing. Experience with stampings. Current experience in purchasing. Technical knowledge of products and supplier processes. Familiarity with QAD or SAP or other MRP system. Experience with systems specific to a purchasing function.
