Functional Safety Engineer - Driver Control Systems

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs     is working with a privately held multinational company in the automotive space. Our 50-year-old client is stable, growing and paid out their bonuses above 100% for the last 4 years and look to continue with strong growth. Because of this, they have a newly created position for a Functional Safety Engineer.

What you will do: The Functional Safety Engineer ensures that safety plan activities meet program timing, aligns safety related topics with suppliers and customers, and determines/analyzes safety requirements. The role creates the Functional and Technical Safety Concepts (FSC and TSC), performs the necessary safety analyses (e.g., FMEA, FMEDA, and FTA), and defines the required tests for the verification and validation of the safety requirements, while also creating a safety case.

What you need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Experience with ADAS systems or other automotive active safety systems. Knowledge of, and experience with, failsafe concepts and strategies for safety related systems. Experience with embedded control systems, hardware and software. Good knowledge of ISO 26262. Experience with creation of safety documents (e.g., Safety Case, FMEA, FMEDA and FTA).
