Senior Engineer

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs     is working with a growing Tier One automotive supplier. Due to the company’s recent growth, they have newly opened position for a Senior Engineer.

What you will do: The Senior Engineer develops composite coil springs for the automotive industry. The role participate in the development of composite coil springs, plans, designs and develops product, processes and tooling, and develops product test plans, analyze results, failure analysis, propose and implement changes in product and process. The role manages projects within timeline and guidelines and maintains records and documentation.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Experience in design and manufacturing of composites – filament winding and/or fiber placement. Experience in product engineering and advanced product development (R&D) in automotive suspension. Experience in test laboratory of automotive. Basic chemistry knowledge of epoxy resin systems used in composite manufacturing. Proficiency with solid modeling in Catia V5/6 or similar. Proficiency with FEA, Ansys or equivalent. Programming and operation experience of a CNC mill. Basic knowledge of casting and/or injection molding processes. Basic knowledge of machine controls (ladder logic, PLC, HMI).
