Supplier Development Specialist - Automotive

Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with an automotive supply to a major manufacturing company. Due to recent growth within the company, they have recently opened a position for a Supplier Development Specialist.

What you will do: The Supplier Development Specialist is responsible for pre-production (including prototype stage) and post production of supplier parts by means of securing delivery and quality to our manufacturing plants. The role coordinates between Design (Engineering) Departments and Suppliers with preparation scheduling and track supplier prototype parts preparation to enable delivery of parts for prototype build, while also working together with quality and engineering to execute the elements of Advanced Quality Planning including the following elements. The position visits suppliers to confirm existing manufacturing processes, recommends process improvement ideas to be incorporated before the launch, and reports supplier visits on a  weekly and monthly basis. Additionally, the Supplier Development Specialist monitors and tracks supplier performances and supports suppliers on issues such as production, quality and delivery concerns.

What you will need: BS is Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical). Quality or Manufacturing Engineering experience. Working knowledge to read drawings, tolerances and dimensional data. Previous experience with Japanese supplier preferred
