CNC/Machining Operations Manager

Washington Heights, Illinois – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national supplier of the tier-one automotive industry. Due to recent growth, the company has recently opened a position for an Operations Manager.

What you will do: The Operations Manager is responsible for managing all manufacturing operations in the gear facility. The role formulates and initiates manufacturing policies and programs, manages and interacts with customer to grow commercial business, and develops, promotes, and maintains positive employee relations while handling employee issues as they arise. The position leads supervisors, group leaders, and various project teams to enhance gear production, maintenance and safety, analyzes and appraises the effectiveness of gear manufacturing operations, and ensures that all products are manufactured properly to meet shipping/delivery commitments and high customer standards. Additionally, the Operations Manager oversees and manages staffing needs across all shifts to support production needs, supports the maintenance of ISO certification as documented by the quality management system, and builds an effective team environment.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business. Experience in manufacturing operations or operations positions in the automotive industry. CNC machining experience. Experience with gears. Solid knowledge of operations flow and related ergonomics, with a focus on lean manufacturing approaches. Experience in a non-union environment. Experience managing on the plant floor level.
