Project Engineer

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a leading industrial materials company. Due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for a Project Engineer.

What you will do: The Project Engineer coordinates activities in all areas of capital project development, implementation and completion in order to meet defined budget schedule and return on investment. The role provides mechanical or electrical engineering support for production and maintenance, develops detailed project plans including project schedule, budget, and return on investment, and plans, coordinates, and leads capital project scheduling, budgeting and administrative tasks. The position manages all aspects of project, including cost control, resources, and scope, and equipment design, documents progress of project implementation to include weekly progress reporting, and interfaces with team members, internal customers and equipment vendors. Additionally, the Project Engineer communicates process, equipment, and tooling changes, presents monthly reports on capital improvement projects, and assists in instruction, training, and checking of assigned work areas.

What you will need: Engineering degree with proven understanding and application of mechanical engineering, trade standards and code (NFPA, IBC, AWS, NEC, SMACNA), as well as an understanding of process flow schematics and equipment sizing. Experience with industrial project engineering involving a broad range of disciplines such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid flows, psychometrics, sheet metal, piping, structural, material handling and air flow. Familiarity with equipment used in industrial manufacturing systems (fans, pumps, burners, motors, heat exchangers, valves, dampers, filters, lighting, and controls).
