Photovoltaic Solar Technician

Boone, North Carolina- Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a company that combines the research and development, design, and manufacturing assets from the industrial system and power electronic businesses. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Photovoltaic Solar Technician.

What you will do: The Photovoltaic Solar Technician provides Technical Advisory Services (TAS) for the commissioning and warranty support of solar photovoltaic inverters and associated electrical systems while meeting project schedules and performance criteria. The position commissions solar photovoltaic inverters per project requirements, gathers pertinent information from authorized sources to assess project requirements as related to assigned scope of work, and troubleshoots, corrects, and documents all problems identified during commissioning or warranty support, while also updating drawings and project documentation to “as installed” status. The role leads respective components of customer final acceptance test when assigned, attends factory witness tests to ensure equipment meets required specifications, coordinates with vendors to resolve potential and identified issues, and trains clients on system maintenance procedures. Additionally, the Photovoltaic Solar Technician identifies new, site-specific opportunities through communication with clients, maintains current safety qualifications, manages site schedules, and formulates recommendations for improvements.

What you will need: Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Experience commissioning and servicing power distribution, power electronic, and rotating machine products. Demonstrated experience with Utility Scale Solar PV Inverters. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with engineering tools and product configuration tools.
