Columbus, Ohio – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Manufacturing Engineer – Tooling.
What you will do: The Manufacturing Engineer – Tooling performs a variety of engineering work in the planning and design of products, tools, machines, and manufacturing processes, while also working with other engineering disciplines in the development of new products to increase production quality and efficiency. The position provides production support through the resolution of equipment related issues, is responsible for new product tooling design, purchase, initial testing, and training of end-user personnel, and supports insourcing products and developing routings for products. Additionally, the Design Engineer supports production quality processes and procedures to increase production throughput and eliminate the customer’s pain, ensures new products are designed for manufacturability, and trains production operators on new machines and manufacturing processes. The position designs mold drawings and fixtures/jigs for assembly work cells and process lines, is responsible for collecting and reviewing production data from production cells, and supports the design and implementation of new molds and manufacturing processes to increase production’s efficiency and quality.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. 1-7 years of experience, no more. Current experience in design and injection molding. Working knowledge of office and CAD software. Basic knowledge of tool and die concepts. Basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Knowledge of surface mounted technology. Working knowledge of machine tools including welders, mills, lathes and various mechanical and electrical hand tools to create prototype.
