South Boston, Virginia – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a leading supplier of industrial robots, modular manufacturing systems and service. Due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for a Transformer Field Service Engineer
What you will do: The Transmission Field Service Engineer manages field service staff, analyzes requirements, assesses changes for transformer equipment, and consults/negotiates with customers regarding installation, modification, and repair of transformer equipment and products in customer field locations. The position supervises a group engaged in transformer field service activities in support of company products and equipment, resolves complex technical and logistic problems under general guidance, and develops/implements measures to improve operations and customer relations. The role plans/establishes work schedules, monitors activities, anticipates and recognizes potential problems, and takes appropriate actions to mitigate, while also informing business development of potential opportunities for new business. Additionally, the Transformer Field Service Engineer is responsible for transformer installation and assembly and vacuum and oil processing.
What you will need: Field service or testing experience. Current experience in power transformer field service and installation. Experience leading field project activities. Experience with field service operations and transformer testing. Knowledgeable and fully fluent in transformer installation and assembly. Strong vacuum and oil processing understanding. Familiarity with shell and/or core form transformer designs and components internal to the transformer. Experience welding above and below oil on transformer tanks. Load Tap Changer (LTC) maintenance and repair knowledge.
