Apex, North Carolina – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a prestigious law firm and due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for a Patent Attorney.
What you will do: The Patent Attorney is responsible for cases involved in wireless communication, searching for any prior work done on the same type of invention and ensuring the scientific and legal accuracy behind the inventor’s claims. A patent lawyer determines who owns the rights to various parts of an invention. The lawyer drafts the patent application and works with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, USPTO, to resolve any questions the patent examiner may have about the application. The attorney also licenses the patent after it is approved and represents clients whose patents have been infringed upon.
What you will need: Degree in Electrical Engineering. Current patent preparation and prosecution experience. Good skills in drafting patent applications and preparing responses to Office Actions. Experience with wireless communications. Experience with the following technologies is highly desired: CDMA, TDMA, OFDM (4G) used in LTE and Wi-Fi / WiMax networks and Spread Spectrum (Bluetooth). Admission to practice before the USPTO. JD required. Admission to the North Carolina bar is a plus.
