Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with a leading supplier of electronic components to a myriad of industries. We have been tasked to identify a Product Engineer for a newly created role.

What you will do: The Project Engineer will own the design efforts in developing new electromechanical products, connectors and terminals involved in all product development phases, while coordinating new product design and preparing presentation material for the designs reviews/customer meetings. The role will provide technical support to customers both internal and external, while additionally performing/checking tolerance studies and other analyses required from the DFMEA to reduce and eliminate failure modes, as well as submitting products for screen and qualification testing in the reliability lab. Additional responsibilities will include coordinating new product development, debug and release, while also, checking manufacturing drawings for completeness and accuracy.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Eight or more years development experience in designing of electromechanical products such as switches, lead frames, plastic housings or copper terminals. Current experience in connector product design.  Design experience in some of the following areas: plastic injection molding, plating, stamping and assembly. Must be able to design products. CAD skills (2D and 3D). Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance studies, statistical analysis, DOE and FEA.
