Product Engineer - Seating

Novi, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a world leading suppliers of innovative parts and systems to the global automotive industry.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Product Engineer for their seating programs .

What you will do: The Product Engineer develops, designs and improves new and existing automotive products, coordinates the complete development for the designated products, and incorporates customer requirements, regulations and product specifications into the design of the designated products, ensuring compliance with operational, cost, timing, safety, reliability, quality, and manufacturing feasibility parameters. Maintains all appropriate documentation. Additionally, the Product Engineer provides engineering direction and support to design personnel, reviews and approves engineering designs and reviews, approves, completes, and submits required change notices to ensure design outputs meet design inputs.  The role analyzes products and formulates engineering conclusions by the application of engineering and/or mathematical principles and tools, applies QFD, FEA, FMEA, DOE, VA/VE and DFM/DFA in the development of the product, and writes/compiles engineering content for engineering specifications and documentation, including DVP&R’s, 8D’s, GD&T, BOM, prototype control plans, key product characteristics, engineering changes and work orders.

What you will need: Bachelors degree in Engineering. Current diversified engineering experience with a focus on product development. Basic competency in CAD and GD&T. Working knowledge of statistical methods, i.e. APQP, DFSS. Working knowledge of seating systems.
