Canoe, Alabama – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a global manufacturer of automotive components. Due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for an Automation Engineer just northeast of the city of Mobile.
What you will do: The Automation Engineer is responsible for selecting, designing and/or modifying and implementing manufacturing equipment used improve productivity, reliability, quality and safety. The role designs, builds, subcontracts, and implements safe, reliable, machines for assigned engineered automation projects, provides detailed technical specifications for PLC interface and automation on equipment, and develops/maintains cost effective specifications and standards for machine controls and programming. The position coordinates all project controls/electrical/automation activities to ensure that project timing, quality, and cost targets are attained, supervises and/or direct contractors, suppliers, or other technical people as required, and performs hands-on programming/debug/troubleshooting of automation equipment. Additionally, the Automation Engineer directs all electrical aspects of new projects including design, wiring, programming, installation, startup, debug, optimization, and documentation, conducts equipment training for Maintenance and Operations personnel, and ensures equipment and layouts are compliant with local and national electrical codes.
What you will need: BSME or BSEE. Current experience in automation engineering. Allen Bradley experience. Solid understanding of computer programming and software development. Proficiency in PLC programming. HMI Proficiency. Ability to design on CAD. Knowledge of Visual basic and Labview would be a plus.
