Product Engineer - Powertrain/Transmission/Axle


Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   is working with a leading automotive supplier to target experienced personnel to fill their newly created Product Engineer.

What you will do: The Product Engineer leads the design, development and validation of products, performs standard engineering analysis (stacks, calculations, interfacing with Core Eng. Groups), and leads the development of engineering drawings and specifications. The position provides mentoring to supporting Product Engineers, coordinates material selection with material specialist, and manages DVP&R execution by coordinating with cross functional team. The role leads technical problem resolution using problem solving techniques such as 8-D, IS/IS-NOT, fishbone, Red X and 6-Panels, leads customer technical meetings and presentations, and leads internal design reviews to meet program milestones. Additionally, the Product Engineer supports DFMEA activity for the responsible products, supports quote process for design changes, and manages CAD and CAE support of projects.

What you will need: Bachelors in Engineering. Current experience in automotive engineering. Experience with driveline, powertrain, transmissions, etc. Proficient with GD&T, dimensional tolerancing and tolerance stacks. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (i.e. casting, forging, machining and assembly). Proficient with application of DFMEA, DVPR and Control Plans. Experience writing technical specifications, validation test procedures and test reports. Experience with CAD/CAE.
