Product Design Engineer


Port Huron, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery    is working with a leading supplier of components to the automotive industry. We have been tasked to identify a Design Engineer for a newly created role.

What you will do: The Design Engineer leads engineering contact in interfacing with current and potential customers on new designs, analyzes working environments, product specifications, and performance requirements to develop optimized assembly designs, and ensures that new products are optimally designed especially in regards to function, cost, and manufacturing capability. The role prepares detailed drawings for submission to customers, champions the gate review process, and maintains project file for each part number quoted. The position is responsible for maintaining the Bill of Material (BOM) for each product and product costing, managing the prototype quoting process, and supporting the production quoting process. Additionally, the Design Engineer provides cradle to grave engineering management, is a key member in the company’s VA/VE initiatives, and is responsible for championing and proactively pursuing continuous improvement projects.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. CAD experience – Pro-E, Creo or Solidworks. Current experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
