Payroll Manager

Lansing, MI – Movement Search and Delivery    is working with a growing, diversified, publicly traded 40-year-old company that is a leading supplier to the commercial automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Payroll Manager at their corporate facility just south of Lansing, MI

What you will do: The Payroll Manager position is responsible for the accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deduction while balancing payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies. This position will test internal payroll controls on an annual basis; recommend and implement improvements in internal controls to mitigate identified risks and make recommendations to enhance payroll-related processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies. Prepare statistical reports on associate pay, commissions and bonuses, vacation, paid absence time, disability and workers compensation leave, and taxes/withholdings, etc.
What you will need: Bachelor’s degree,   Current experience managing a staff with payroll as the main function.  Multi-state tax experience required. Previous experience processing multiple payrolls with multiple frequencies. Previous experience using DayForce or similar system preferred.  Looking for experience with: ADP, Vacation, Time and attendance, Taxes *federal, state, and city*, Multi State payroll, Running payroll for no less than 800 people.
