Director of Engineering


Lafayette, Indiana  Movement Search & Delivery   is working with a national manufacturer of turbines. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Director of Manufacturing Engineering for New Product.  

What you will do:  This role will be responsible for new product manufacturing from development through scale up.  The position will lead and develop the stage-gate processes establishing methods for the entire product manufacturing lifecycle while putting in place scorecards providing project management oversites   The Director of Engineering will work cross-functionally with shareholders in a high mix environment where mixed model manufacturing is key.

What you will need: BS Engineering.  Knowledge of Product Life Cycle (PLC) processes. Leading NPI process utilizing APQP  Design for X knowledge. Examples are Design for Manufacturability, safety, ergonomics, quality and cost.  CNC machining, industrial assembly.  Understanding of Solid Modelling programs, GD&T. Strong understanding of bill of material structure including product structure, family tree, generic vs. customization, merge in transit) revision changes and how it affects manufacturing, procurement.   Mixed Model manufacturing concepts. Factory automation solutions.  New plant and/or multi-plant startup experience.  Extensive experience with new product introduction.
